Ras Judah hails from Botswana in Southern Africa. He has been writing and performing music for over 20 years. Prior to his migration to New Zealand, Ras worked and toured with musicians from around Southern Africa, including South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mozambique, and Malawi. During the late 1990s, he toured the UK (England, Scotland, Ireland) and Greece.

Ras Judah has so far released five studio albums; "Afrikan Children" (With Stepping Razor Band, Botswana), 2000, "Land of My Birth" 2001, "Jah Warrior" 2006, "Afrikan Village Cry" 2010, and "Pan Afrikan" (with Culture Embassy band, NZ), 2015.

Ras migrated to New Zealand in 2004, and during the same year, he started working with the Nelson-based reggae outfit "One Vibe", with whom he performed and toured for over ten years. However, in 2013 he moved to Wellington city to study at Victoria University. Once in Wellington, he started work with the current multi-cultural, 8 piece band, "Culture Embassy" - A full line up that plays Afro ethno-jazz, Reggae, and Folk Fusion.

Judah performed everything on Afrikan Village Cry except for some saxophone I added on Madilo and Bokhudutlou. I'm particularly fond of this album as it is utterly different to anything else I've worked on. I decided to remix and master as I have better software now and felt I could substantially improve the sound.

The album was recorded using a Metric Halo ULN-8 audio interface. A fabulous piece of kit.
